Most probably you already have a domain and a host, your blog has the best theme and layout for your content and you already started to blog. But you may need a bit of guidance on what to do or write next — and here is where Visitor Analytics for WordPress step in.

Why You Should Track Your Website Statistics (with real-life examples)

Analytics is important for your business and it helps a lot in making the right decision at the right moment for the right target group.

Visitor Analytics provides you with relevant facts displayed in a friendly and simple manner, color-coded to easily see your performance and you will not lose your precious time trying to figure out what your data says, but on your business growth. All stats have their definitions in the upper right corner, so you will always know what you actually track and what it means.

Here are 4 key stats to know of and a few real-life examples to apply them:

1. Let us say you have a small online shop and you sell cosmetics.

By checking the Latest Visitors you can see each user path! This is absolutely great since you can see where the visitor came from (so who is driving your traffic), which products they browsed or if they went back and forth on some of them and where are they from. This helps you see which are the most compared products or what is the set of products that a visitor checks the most and you can create a promo box with those products and sell it or a giveaway!

2. You have a small company and you just launched a campaign with a few influencers and just partnered-up with a couple of local events in your city as well.

Check the Top referrers to identify the most efficient partners that drive traffic to your website. And if you check the entire list of Referrers from the menu tab, you will not see only the list of sites driving traffic to you, but on which pages the visitors check! You just have to click the 3 dots to see more.

This feature helps you understand the performance of your affiliates, partners or sellers recommending you and you can know exactly where they linked to and how many visitors came from them on that specific time range.

3. If you have an online shop and you plan to go international, but you have no idea how to start, check the Map: if most of your visitors (and customers) are from a specific area (countries, cities or even small regions) you can translate your website based on your most visitors country, localize your products based on their culture, create personalized products, offer them discounts based on specific holidays and run advertising campaigns by targeting specific locations.

By identifying your visitors’ countries and cities you will learn how to optimize the user experience and increase conversion rates by creating geo-targeted content.

4. No matter if you have a shop or a blog, check the Traffic Charts!

Knowing when your traffic is peaking during the day, week or which months are the best ones, helps you a lot: you can schedule the best hours and days to publish new posts, pick the right time to display a promotion pop-up and to know the right months for your vacation days because the traffic is lower than usual.
