About Unique Website Visitors
Visitor Analytics counts unique visitors as the number of people who visited a website at least once in a selected time range. This is one of the most popular website analytics metrics as it helps marketers understand website user behavior, in order to set goals, price products, and other important activities.
In the Visitor Analytics Overview the following information about visitors is displayed:
- Uniques Visitors
- Map of live visitors
- The 6 latest visitors
- Map of visitors by country
All this information can be viewed with more details in the Visitor Analytics dashboard.
How are Unique Visitors Counted?
Visitor Analytics counts unique visitors as the number of distinct individuals that visited a website for the first time in a selected time range (today, last 7 days, last 4 weeks or any custom period of time chosen by the user). If a visitor comes to the same website 2 times in the selected time range, it will be counted once as a unique visitor and once as a returning visitor.
